Electrolye Drink
Electrolyte Drink to replace lost sugars salts and other essentials
Perfect for this time of year or post tummy bug of any time where you need to replace fluids, sugars, salts plus try get some much needed vitamins and antioxidants back into the body.
This DIY version is based on my cold remedy drink but topped up with Coconut Water instead of plain water or green tea. Fill a glass with ice, add 50ml of cold remedy tonic and top up with coconut water for an instant pick me up. This is easy to drink, tastes lovely and is perfect if you are a bit delicate from the night before or someone in the house has had a tummy bug and can only manage fluids.
1inch piece of fresh ginger peeled and grated
Juice and zest of 3 lemons, 1 orange and 1 lime
2 tbsp manuka honey
1 pinch natural sea salt
Add everything to a jug and stir well.
Cover and leave for the flavours to develop,
When needed simply, pour 1fl oz into a glass, top up with ice and coconut water. About 4fl oz to 1 of tonic is good. Store left over tonic in the fridge.
