Easy Seedy Brown Bread
A definite back to school essential - Perfect topped with chicken turkey tuna ham cheese what ever you like to make a delicious wholesome lunch. The whole grains and seeds are fab for fibre and tastes really great too
Ingredients
250g whole meal flour
250g plain white flour
25g porridge oats
1tsp salt and sugar
1 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
450ml of butter milk
2tbsp of seeds
Method
Grease a 9” / 23cm tin and line the base with parchment.
Oven at 200C
Add seeds to a bowl and top with a little water to soak while you prepare the bread. Add the dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well, make a well in the middle and add in the butter milk. Stir very well to mix fully. Add in the seeds (drained) and mix well. If it seems a little dry just add a splash more milk.
Turn into the greased tin, sprinkle over a few more seeds or porridge oats and bake for about 30-40 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
